WHAT

WE DO

SERVICES.

HOPE FAITH – HOMELESS ASSISTANCE CAMPUS (HF)

Hope Faith is the only collaborative daytime center in Kansas City, Missouri, providing direct services to people experiencing homelessness throughout Kansas City. Hope Faith provides for immediate needs such as food, showers, clothing, laundry service, case management, and other essential services. HF provides office space and operational support for anchor partners that provide medical, dental, vision, and mental health services as well as additional case management. HF is in continuous collaboration with external partners and service providers to offer the best possible solutions to empower individuals and break the cycles of homelessness and poverty.

This “one-stop” location approach reduces the barriers that individuals face when seeking programs and services that are spread out through the Kansas City metro area. Homeless and low income individuals, families, and youth often lack access to adequate transportation and having a centralized location for services and programs reduces the barrier.

Co-locating services, programs, and agencies in a single facility and location reduces delivery costs and frees resources to better serve the needs of guests.

Meals and Nutrition Program

The meals and nutrition program is critical in providing nutritious meals to the homeless and those who are food insecure. Central to the program is providing three meals a day starting with a continental breakfast, hot breakfast from 8:30am – 10:00am, and lunch served from 11:00am – 12:30pm Monday through Friday and 11:00am – 1:30pm on Saturday. Additionally, the meals and nutrition program provides special holiday meals, distributes food to the local community, and provides for educational nutrition, healthy eating, and cooking classes.

Clothing Shop Program

The clothing shop provides donated clothes, shoes, blankets, and other clothing items to the homeless and low-income community. Emergency clothing and clothing for employment opportunities is prioritized for individuals and families. Warm clothing distributed to the community is an essential health and safety factor during the winter months especially for individuals and families who lack adequate shelter and/or stay outside. Hours: Saturday   9:30am – 11:30am

Health/Wellness Program

The health/wellness program is the centralized coordination of medical, vision, dental, and mental health services. This includes coordination with onsite agencies to provide for urgent medical needs as well as the coordination with onsite and external service partners to provide care for emergency, critical, and long term health issues. HFM provides over the counter medication and fills non-narcotic prescriptions. The program also provides hygiene services such as showers, a laundry facility, and sanitary products which can help prevent health issues from escalating. Client Services

Client services plays a key role in connecting clients with programs and services to help stabilize and provide scaffolding for individuals to regain self-sufficiency. This includes case managing clients through housing programs, employment services, educational/vocational options, legal services, and other critical programs. Additionally, HFM Day Center has partnered with Brothers with Razors and other local beauticians to provide services for our clients.  Something as simple as a hair cut and style can impact our clients self-esteem.
